I Am Maximus emerged victorious at the 2026 Grand National, completing the race in 9 minutes and 9.68 seconds. This win secured the second consecutive title for the horse owned by JP McManus, making I Am Maximus a two-time champion alongside Tiger Roll at this esteemed racing event.
With this triumph, JP McManus now holds the record for the most wins by an owner at the Grand National, having secured four victories in total. Additionally, trainer Willie Mullins celebrated his second straight win, following his success with Nick Rockett in the previous year.
Reflecting on the race, jockey Paul Townend, who has achieved a Gold Cup and Grand National double this season, praised I Am Maximus, highlighting the horse’s strength and determination.
