A new vacation spot has been identified as a top choice for travelers seeking a lively atmosphere with affordable £1 beers and warm weather reaching 30C in May, along with pristine white sandy beaches.

Zanzibar, located near Tanzania, has emerged as a popular alternative to the well-known party destination of Magaluf. The island boasts an array of picturesque beaches and quaint towns, making it a sought-after destination for budget-conscious travelers seeking a sunny getaway.

Recent statistics show a significant 4.9% increase in tourist arrivals to the island, indicating a growing appeal among global travelers. Many visitors choose to stay in Stone Town, renowned for its historic charm and architectural beauty, including attractions like the Old Fort and the Sultan’s Palace Museum.

While not as wild as Magaluf, Stone Town offers beach parties and some nightlife options. Nungwi, situated in the northern part of the island, has gained popularity among backpackers, offering events like Full Moon Parties near accommodations. The area features serene beaches where visitors can witness turtles swimming in the crystal-clear waters, creating a relaxed ambiance reminiscent of a quieter Ibiza.

The island’s climate is a major draw for British tourists, with an average of 12.06 hours of sunshine daily, even during the winter months. Temperatures can soar up to 33C from January to April, making it an ideal destination for winter sun seekers.

The warm waters surrounding Zanzibar are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving, allowing visitors to explore vibrant coral reefs and possibly encounter dolphins during their underwater adventures.

Despite being a longer flight away, travelers can find affordable deals to Zanzibar. Flight options include one-way fares starting from £261 in June with layovers in Nairobi or Istanbul, with the total journey time averaging around 14 hours.

Accommodation choices on the island cater to various budgets, with luxury properties offering attractive deals. For instance, a seven-night stay for two at the 5-star Sofia Sea View can be secured for £371 in May, while an all-inclusive week at the TUI BLUE Bahari Zanzibar comes in at £1,157 for two guests and can be booked via Booking.com.
