Iran has released a video that ridicules Donald Trump’s recent comparisons of himself to Jesus Christ by depicting him being cast into hell. This provocative clip emerges amidst Trump’s intensifying dispute with Pope Leo following the US President’s sharing of an AI-generated image portraying himself as Jesus.
In the deleted image posted by Trump on Truth Social, he is depicted in a white robe, healing a man in a divine setting. However, Iran’s video takes this further by showing Jesus descending from heaven to condemn Trump to hell, causing a shift in the expressions of Trump’s supporters from admiration to shock.
While Trump has not directly addressed the video, he attempted to clarify his initial post by stating he believed the image portrayed him as a doctor rather than a religious figure, emphasizing his ability to heal others. Subsequently, Trump removed the post citing public confusion.
Simultaneously, Trump finds himself embroiled in a heated verbal altercation with Pope Leo over the pontiff’s stance on crime. Trump urged the Pope to concentrate on his religious duties rather than engaging in politics, criticizing the Pope’s performance. The clash erupted after the Pope’s Easter message condemning war, which Trump interpreted as a critique of his policies towards Iran.
In response to the Pope’s statements, Vice President JD Vance, a practicing Catholic, cautioned the Pope against delving into theological matters, pointing out the longstanding tradition of just war theory to justify conflicts. Despite the tensions, the Pope affirmed his commitment to promoting peaceful solutions and expressed his lack of fear towards the Trump administration, avoiding a direct confrontation with the White House.
