Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly reached an agreement to face off in an exciting heavyweight match, with significant details now unveiled.

In December, reports indicated that the long-standing feud between the two fighters would be settled in the boxing ring in 2026. However, shortly after Anthony Joshua’s knockout victory over Jake Paul during the recent Christmas period, Joshua was involved in a tragic car accident in Nigeria, resulting in the tragic deaths of his close friends Sina Ghami and Lateef ‘Latz’ Ayodele.

Despite concerns that Joshua might not return to boxing following the accident, the former two-time heavyweight champion is now back in light training, sparking talks of a potential ring comeback this summer. Speculations suggest that Joshua could first face former rival Dillian Whyte before setting up a clash with Fury.

According to boxing journalist Gareth A Davies, both Fury and Joshua have agreed to the showdown. Speaking on talkSPORT, Davies confirmed that the fight has been “signed” and “agreed” behind the scenes. “The Fury-Joshua fight is signed,” he stated, emphasizing the credibility of the information.

Davies mentioned that the anticipated showdown is likely to be broadcast on Netflix, possibly happening later this year or in the upcoming year. He hinted at Joshua’s potential return to action in June or July. “It’s with the big money people. It’ll be on Netflix,” Davies added, expressing confidence that the bout is on track to take place.

Netflix is set to broadcast Fury’s return on April 11. Notably, the ‘Gypsy King’ surprised fans last year by announcing his retirement from boxing, only to reverse his decision months later. Fury is scheduled to face the formidable Russian fighter Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Meanwhile, Joshua is nearing a full training return, gearing up for a possible comeback to the ring later this year. Despite the challenges he faced, including the accident, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, remains optimistic about a potential clash with Fury. Hearn suggested that while the Fury fight could happen, it might occur towards the end of the year or early in the following year.

The stage is set for an epic showdown between Fury and Joshua, capturing the attention of boxing enthusiasts worldwide.
