A 19-year-old teenager has left investigators stunned with the disturbing language he reportedly used to recount a vicious crime. Lucas Sander Jones, 19, is said to have confessed to his girlfriend about killing and dismembering someone in a gruesome manner. This confession has become a crucial piece of evidence in the case against him.

The series of unsettling events unfolded on March 20 when the girlfriend visited Jones’ residence in Indialantic, Florida. Upon arrival, she was confronted with a distressing scene characterized by bloodstains on the floor and walls, marks on Jones’ attire, and traces of attempted cleanup. Additionally, it was noted that black spray paint had been used inside the house.

During this encounter, Jones allegedly disclosed to his girlfriend that the victim, Colie Lee Daniel, 28, was targeted due to being a registered sex offender. Records show that Daniel had a prior conviction in 2018 related to a minor, leading to his listing on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s sex offender registry.

Investigations revealed that Jones had prepared a list of nearby sex offenders before the incident, hinting at premeditation. Allegedly, Jones attacked Daniel with a baseball bat before dismembering him with various tools. Concern arose when Daniel did not return home, prompting his parents to locate him using a tracking feature on his device, which led them to Jones’ residence.

Upon visiting the house, the parents were informed that their son was present but refused to come out. Subsequently, the police were contacted, but initial attempts to access the property were unsuccessful. It was later discovered that Jones had moved the remains in containers and a suitcase to a remote area in Palm Bay known as “the Compound” after the officers’ departure.

Several days later, human remains were found in an abandoned suitcase in the area, identified through items linking back to Jones. Daniel’s status as a sex offender was highlighted, as well as Jones’ alleged premeditation indicated by the list of sex offenders and the tools used in the dismemberment.

In a significant turn of events, Jones’ girlfriend revised her initial statement, providing what she claimed to be the accurate sequence of events. She revealed that Jones had instructed her to withhold information from the authorities and asserted that the victim was already deceased and dismembered before her arrival.

Furthermore, she disclosed unpublished details, including allegations that Jones retained some of the victim’s blood. Initially apprehended for handling human remains, Jones was later rearrested and charged with first-degree murder. He is currently in custody without bail as legal proceedings progress.
