Two individuals holding Premium Bonds, one from Liverpool and the other from Norfolk, have each won a significant £1 million prize.

According to National Savings & Investments (NS&I), the first winning Premium Bonds number of £1 million for this month is 496VT504601, owned by a person in Liverpool who purchased the bond in April 2022 with a total holding of £50,000. This marks the fifth jackpot win for Liverpool residents.

The second £1 million jackpot Bond number, 282NN327573, belongs to an individual in Norfolk. This bond was acquired a decade ago in September 2016, with a maximum holding of £50,000. This win represents the third £1 million jackpot winner from Norfolk.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, expressed delight for the two winners, stating, “Spring has brought good fortune to two Premium Bonds holders in Liverpool and Norfolk, each receiving a £1 million prize this March.”

Westhead continued, “In addition to the jackpot winners, this month’s draw by ERNIE has awarded over £410 million in tax-free prizes to more than six million winners. To check if you are among the lucky winners this spring, use our NS&I prize checker app starting Tuesday, March 3.”

This month’s draw will see a total payout of £410,607,175 to 6,221,321 Premium Bonds winners, bringing the overall prize value since the inaugural draw in June 1957 to over £40.3 billion across 821 million prizes.

Apart from the two £1 million winners, there are 78 bond holders who won £100,000, along with 156 prizes of £50,000, 313 prizes of £25,000, and 782 prizes of £10,000. Additionally, close to 2.7 million bond holders received a £25 prize each.

Originally introduced in November 1956, Premium Bonds had their first prize draw in June 1957. Individuals can hold up to £50,000 in Premium Bonds, backed by the UK Treasury, offering the chance to win tax-free prizes.

Newly purchased Premium Bonds must be held for a full calendar month before being eligible for the prize draw.

The winning Bond numbers for the two £1 million jackpots are announced on the first working day of each month after being contacted directly by Agent Million.

Bond holders can verify if they have won prizes ranging from £25 to £100,000 starting the day after the first working day of each month using the Premium Bonds prize checker app, the NS&I website, or by asking Alexa. For this month, verification will be available on Tuesday, March 3.

To check prizes on the NS&I website, Bond holders will need their Premium Bonds holder’s number. Those using the Premium Bonds app can utilize their holder’s number or their NS
