Christian Horner’s presence at a MotoGP event has sparked rumors of a potential venture into the world of two-wheeled motorsport. The former Red Bull team principal was seen at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez, fueling speculation about his interest in the premier class of motorcycle racing.

Having been ousted by Red Bull last year, the 52-year-old has been exploring options to re-enter the Formula 1 scene. Despite being associated with roles at Aston Martin and Alpine, Horner is still on the sidelines, looking for a way back in.

His former rival, Toto Wolff of Mercedes, has hinted that a return to F1 might be challenging due to past conflicts within the sport. MotoGP, now under the ownership of F1’s parent company Liberty Media, could present a new opportunity for Horner.

During the race weekend, Horner spent time in the Honda garage, engaging in discussions with Honda Racing Corporation CEO Koji Watanabe and interacting with key figures from Ducati. His close relationship with Honda, which supplied engines to Red Bull during Max Verstappen’s successful F1 campaigns, adds intrigue to his potential involvement in MotoGP.

In an interview with MotoGP’s official feed, Horner expressed his admiration for the championship and the evolution of motorcycle technology. He mentioned his long-standing interest in MotoGP and his desire to explore different forms of motorsport.

While Wolff and Mercedes contemplate investing in Alpine, a move that could impact Horner’s F1 aspirations, Horner remains open to exploring opportunities in MotoGP. If he decides to pursue a role in the motorcycle racing world, he would follow the footsteps of Guenther Steiner, the former Haas F1 team principal who recently led a consortium to acquire the Red Bull KTM Tech3 outfit.

Horner recently witnessed an exciting sprint race at MotoGP, won by Marc Marquez after a thrilling battle in changing weather conditions. As he explores potential avenues in motorsport, the main Grand Prix event awaits on Sunday, promising more action for racing enthusiasts.
