When it comes to taking care of our well-being, sometimes we could use a bit of extra guidance and assistance.
Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK and catering to more than half a million customers weekly, is available to lend a hand. They make it simple for you to pick up your prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, or consult their knowledgeable pharmacists while doing your weekly shopping.
Many individuals find it challenging to schedule essential health check-ups amidst their busy schedules. When time is scarce, turning to online sources for solutions to health concerns can often be more stressful than comforting.
“This is why we provide quick and convenient pharmacy services, health advice, and health and wellness products in our pharmacies that customers can avail while they are already in the store,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.
From flu vaccinations and immunizations to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies act as a one-stop destination for helpful advice. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.
Furthermore, pharmacists can help you save time by prescribing treatments for various common ailments, such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs, through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need to book an appointment with your general practitioner.
For individuals dealing with long-term health issues, Tesco Pharmacists have undergone additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to provide information, support, raise awareness, and mitigate the risks associated with cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes. “When you visit Tesco, simply head to the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist sporting a Let’s Talk badge,” advises Tom.
“If you have inquiries about your heart health, our pharmacy teams are here to conduct a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no hassle, no appointment needed,” assures Tom. “A brief visit to the store can offer peace of mind or prompt support if necessary.”
This year alone, Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests to customers – a valuable service making a significant impact.
It’s not only customers who reap the benefits of the services provided by in-store pharmacies. “Tesco employees can also take advantage of the convenience of assistance through our pharmacies and other health services,” Tom adds.
“All employees have access to virtual GP consultations and additional support on topics like sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
