Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the recent update rollout. The popular UK TV platform has introduced changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has confirmed that certain broadcasters are implementing adjustments, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
The update includes four notable changes. Firstly, three channels have been rebranded with new names, which will now be visible in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, offering music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.
In addition to these rebrands, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, will launch on Channel 75. Although program listings for this new service are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of ongoing changes as broadcasters continually adjust their offerings to maintain varied and up-to-date content.
To ensure that these changes are reflected on the TV planner, Freeview users may need to retune their devices by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on the remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter the PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Allow the device to automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, making it advisable to retune sooner rather than later to ensure uninterrupted viewing experience.
