Air travel can be a stressful experience, especially due to the regulations concerning items allowed on flights. Liquids, including alcohol, are subject to strict guidelines regarding the quantity passengers can carry, including duty-free purchases.

Passengers flying with popular British airlines like TUI, Jet2, British Airways, EasyJet, and Ryanair should review the specific alcohol regulations set by each airline to avoid issues at the airport.

One crucial aspect for passengers to verify is the Alcohol By Volume (ABV) content of any alcoholic beverages they plan to bring onboard. Different airlines have varying rules regarding ABV percentages and restrictions on in-flight alcohol consumption.

While it is illegal for individuals to board an aircraft while intoxicated, each airline has its own set of policies regarding alcohol consumption. To assist passengers, we have compiled a list of each airline’s guidelines for alcohol consumption during flights.

For TUI, alcoholic drinks with less than 24% ABV have no restrictions, but those over 70% ABV are not allowed. Beverages with ABV between 24% and 70% are subject to specific requirements.

Jet2 prohibits passengers from consuming their alcohol inflight and reserves the right to regulate alcohol consumption at any time. Alcohol with an ABV exceeding 70% is not permitted in checked or hand luggage.

British Airways passengers can bring onboard as many alcoholic drinks as they wish if the ABV is below 24%. For ABV between 24% and 70%, there is a 5L limit, while anything above 70% ABV is prohibited.

EasyJet does not permit the consumption of alcohol not purchased onboard. Passengers may bring alcohol bought elsewhere onto the aircraft as long as it is not consumed and is under 70% ABV.

Similarly, Ryanair does not allow alcohol above 70% ABV onboard but permits duty-free items in the cabin alongside cabin bags. However, only duty-free items are allowed in duty-free bags.

Passengers should be aware of these regulations to avoid any issues while traveling.
