Tyson Fury has unveiled the three opponents he aims to face upon his boxing comeback, with a highly anticipated bout against Anthony Joshua topping his hit list.
After initially retiring from the sport in January following consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk, the ‘Gypsy King’ has made a surprising U-turn. Recent months have seen the British boxer intensifying his training regimen, currently honing his skills in Thailand in preparation for a significant year in the ring.
At 37, Fury has been training alongside WBC bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena, not shying away from naming his desired rivals. Since his defeat to Usyk in December 2024, Fury has been vocal about seeking a third fight with his long-standing adversary.
In addition to a potential rematch with Usyk, the former two-time heavyweight champion is also eyeing matchups with compatriots Joshua and Fabio Wardley. A recent social media post by Fury showcased him facing off against the three heavyweight contenders.
Following a door opening to a showdown with Wardley, Fury hinted at a potential fight later in 2026. Wardley, who claimed the WBO interim title with a sensational knockout victory over Joseph Parker, was subsequently promoted to full champion after Usyk relinquished the title.
Despite fans’ calls for a trilogy fight with Usyk, uncertainty looms as Usyk’s advisor hinted at the rivalry being concluded. Talks of a summer showdown between Fury and Joshua were in progress until Joshua’s involvement in a tragic car accident in Nigeria, casting doubt on his future in the ring.
Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding a potential Fury-Joshua bout, suggesting a late 2026 timeline or possible cancellation. Warren emphasized the impact of the recent tragedy on Joshua’s mental state and the uncertainty it brings to the boxing landscape.
