The top holiday park in the country for the year 2026 has been unveiled, located on the stunning Norfolk coast near two popular seaside destinations.
Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village sits between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, close to the Suffolk border. Awarded five stars by The AA, the park offers excellent leisure and entertainment facilities suitable for all ages.
Winning the prestigious AA Holiday Park of the Year award for 2025-26, Hopton Holiday Village impressed inspectors with its picturesque seaside location, charming countryside backdrop, and wide array of on-site amenities.
With 775 static caravans, the park is situated in Hopton village, known for its expansive sandy beach that attracts many visitors during the summer months. Guests have direct access to the beach, allowing for relaxation on the golden sands or leisurely walks along the peaceful clifftops.
The village exudes a traditional seaside ambiance, featuring fish-and-chip shops, lively amusements, and various convenient stores. Just a short ten-minute drive away lies the bustling Great Yarmouth, offering family-friendly attractions such as the Pleasure Beach rides, SEA LIFE Centre, and seaside entertainment on the pier.
A 40-minute journey north from Hopton leads travelers to Horsey Gap, renowned for its large grey seal colony. During pupping season from late October to February, visitors can observe these charming seals from viewing platforms without causing any disturbance.
For a classic day out, Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park, approximately 15 miles from the park, provides attractions for all ages, including thrilling rollercoasters and a Kiddie Zone. Plans are in place for the park to expand in 2026, adding four new rides.
Additionally, the park offers wildlife areas where visitors can view colorful birds and sea lions, along with a soft play area included in the admission fee. On-site activities at Hopton Holiday Village include an indoor pool with flumes, a covered outdoor pool open in warmer months, mini-golf, tennis, bike rentals, karting, and an inflatable arena during the summer.
A significant entertainment complex at the park houses various amenities, including a fish and chip shop, fast food outlets, amusements, and The Marina Bar and Stage where Haven’s entertainment team performs shows. Evening entertainment includes activities for kids with The Seaside Squad, bingo, and family-friendly performances.
Starting at £49 for a three-night stay for a family of four in a saver caravan, breaks at Hopton Holiday Village can be booked on the Haven website. Early April will see the introduction of a JD Wetherspoon pub at the park, offering families the chance to enjoy their favorite ‘Spoons dishes while on vacation.
