BBC co-commentator Steve Cram has urged Winter Olympic officials to address the Canada curling team regarding their use of inappropriate language after they defeated Team GB 9-5.
Brad Jacobs’ team has sparked controversy for their behavior in Milan and Cortina, with Canada third Marc Kennedy involved in a heated exchange with Swedish player Oskar Eriksson earlier in the competition, leading to a public apology from the BBC.
Kennedy also faced allegations of rule violations during the match against Sweden, prompting World Curling to issue a statement clarifying the regulations. Despite this, the BBC commentary team once again criticized the Canadians for their language.
During a break in the game, the Canadians were caught using profanity near TV cameras, causing disapproval from Cram and co-commentator Logan Gray. Cram expressed his concern, stating that action needed to be taken regarding the Canadians’ behavior.
