CPAC, known as a somewhat chaotic event, is currently in its second day in Texas. The conference, often dubbed “Trumpfest,” is experiencing an air of uncertainty due to Donald Trump’s unconfirmed attendance for his annual speech on Saturday. Notably, key figures from the Trump administration are sparsely present, with ICE chief Tom Homan and former Education Secretary Linda McMahon making appearances.

The event saw last-minute additions to the schedule, including controversial speaker RFK Jr discussing anti-vax sentiments. The constant schedule changes and delayed announcements have added to the disarray of the conference. Despite the presumed alignment of most attendees with Trump’s Iran War stance, internal tensions within the movement are evident.

In a separate event, Donald Trump hosted a Greek Reception to celebrate Greece’s Independence Day. During the gathering, Trump made an awkward remark to Kimberley Guilfoyle, referring to her with a pet name and making a suggestive comment.

At CPAC, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche avoided discussing the Epstein investigation but proudly mentioned the dismissal of individuals involved in investigations into Trump’s alleged wrongdoings. Blanche highlighted the Department of Justice’s overhaul under Trump’s administration, emphasizing the removal of over 200 staff members related to investigations against the former president.

Furthermore, Trump announced his decision to order immediate payment to Transportation Security Administration agents to alleviate airport disruptions caused by a budget stalemate. The move came after considerations of invoking a national emergency, opting instead to utilize funds from a future tax bill to pay the TSA agents.

Regarding international relations, Trump postponed potential strikes against Iran’s energy infrastructure, extending deadlines for diplomatic negotiations. While claiming progress in talks to end the conflict, Iran has denied engaging in any discussions.

In a cabinet meeting, Trump criticized UK aircraft carriers, labeling them as inferior and questioned NATO’s support. The meeting also revealed Iran’s gesture of allowing oil shipments, a gesture Trump eagerly shared with his cabinet members.

Amid these events, Liz Truss delivered a controversial speech at CPAC, advocating for a “Trump-style revolution” in Britain and denouncing media outlets as enemies. Truss’s remarks hinted at conspiracy theories and urged Trump to purge perceived deep state elements in the US government.

In summary, these recent developments highlight the ongoing political turmoil and shifting dynamics within the Trump administration and its supporters.
