The individual facing charges in connection with the tragic car crash involving Anthony Joshua has made a court appearance in Nigeria. The incident resulted in the deaths of Joshua’s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, after their vehicle collided with a stationary lorry near Lagos on December 29. While Joshua sustained injuries but survived, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, appeared at Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state and his case was adjourned to March 13. Kayode faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and reckless and negligent driving. He was granted bail and also accused of driving without due care and driving without a valid driver’s license, potentially facing a life sentence. Prosecutors requested more time to collect evidence. Joshua narrowly avoided death in the crash, recovering and being discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve. He has since returned to the UK for ongoing rehabilitation. Joshua expressed gratitude for the support he received during his recovery, acknowledging the loss of his friends and their significant impact on his life. Determined to honor their legacy, Joshua emphasized his commitment to ensuring their dreams live on.
