Donald Trump commended the recently established ceasefire following his prior warnings of severe consequences, noting the potential for significant financial gains in Iran. The US President issued a statement shortly after a conditional two-week truce with Iran was agreed upon, just before the looming deadline he had set for the regime to comply with his demands. Trump described the agreement as a significant advancement for global peace.

He mentioned that the US would assist in managing traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and highlighted the economic opportunities that would arise from Iran’s reconstruction efforts. The ceasefire, involving Iran, the US, and Israel, was brokered after a public appeal from the Pakistani Prime Minister for more time to facilitate diplomatic discussions between the conflicting parties.

In the lead-up to the last-minute agreement, Trump had issued a stark ultimatum to Iran, warning of dire consequences if they failed to reach a deal with Washington. Despite the initial tensions and his ominous threats, Trump hailed the ceasefire as a crucial step towards peace.

In a post on Truth Social, the President expressed optimism about the prospects for world peace, emphasizing Iran’s willingness to cooperate. Transitioning to economic matters, Trump highlighted the role of the US in managing traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and the potential for lucrative opportunities in the region.

The ceasefire with Iran, although subject to conditions, has not yet seen a public acceptance of an invitation for talks scheduled in Islamabad on Friday. While some aspects of Iran’s proposed 10-point ceasefire plan had been previously rejected by the US, Trump expressed readiness to negotiate based on the proposal received from Iran.

Trump stated, “We have received a 10-point proposal from Iran, which we believe provides a viable foundation for negotiations. While many past points of contention have been resolved between the United States and Iran, a two-week period will allow for the finalization and implementation of the agreement.”
