When it comes to maintaining our well-being, there are times when we can use some extra guidance and assistance. With over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK catering to more than half a million customers weekly, Tesco is readily available to offer support. Tesco makes it convenient for customers to pick up their prescriptions, utilize their comprehensive healthcare services, and consult with their knowledgeable pharmacists while doing their regular shopping.

Balancing vital health check-ups with hectic schedules can be challenging for many individuals. Seeking answers to health concerns from online sources when time is limited can often lead to more stress than relief. Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness, explains, “That’s why we provide prompt and accessible pharmacy services, health advice, and a range of health and wellness products in our pharmacies for customers to utilize while shopping in-store.”

From flu vaccinations and vaccines to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies offer a convenient hub for friendly guidance. Tom emphasizes that a brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the necessary assistance for customers.

Pharmacists at Tesco can also save valuable time by prescribing treatments for common conditions like sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a doctor’s appointment.

Moreover, Tesco’s pharmacists have undergone additional training from reputable organizations like Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to provide information, support, and raise awareness about cancer, heart and circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes. Customers can approach pharmacists wearing Let’s Talk badges at the pharmacy counter for guidance.

Tom mentions, “For heart health inquiries, our pharmacy teams are available for quick and friendly walk-in blood pressure checks without the need for an appointment.” A few minutes spent in-store can offer peace of mind or prompt early support when necessary.

In the current year, Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests for customers, a service that has had a significant positive impact.

It’s not just customers who benefit from the in-store pharmacy services. Tom highlights that Tesco employees can also take advantage of the convenience and support provided through the pharmacies and other health services. All employees have access to virtual GP appointments and additional support services for sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.
