When it comes to maintaining our well-being, additional guidance and assistance can often be necessary.

With over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK, catering to more than half a million customers weekly, Tesco is readily available to offer support. Accessing prescriptions, utilizing their comprehensive healthcare services, or seeking advice from their knowledgeable pharmacists is made convenient during your routine shopping trips.

Balancing essential health check-ups with hectic schedules can be challenging for many individuals. Seeking answers to health concerns from online sources when time is limited can sometimes lead to added stress rather than reassurance.

“To address this, we provide prompt and convenient pharmacy services, health guidance, and a range of health and wellness products in our pharmacies within the store,” says Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations to weight management services, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a one-stop destination for friendly recommendations. “Just a brief visit in-store can offer crucial peace of mind or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

Moreover, pharmacists can save time by prescribing treatments for various common ailments like sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

In addressing long-term health concerns, Tesco Pharmacists are equipped with additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to provide information, support, and help minimize the risks of cancer, heart diseases, circulatory conditions, and type 2 diabetes. “While shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist displaying a Let’s Talk badge,” advises Tom.

“For inquiries regarding heart health, our pharmacy teams are available for quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure checks – no hassle, no appointment needed,” adds Tom. “A brief visit to the store can offer peace of mind or prompt early intervention if required.”

This year alone, Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests for customers – a valuable service that is creating a significant impact.

Not only do customers benefit from the services provided by in-store pharmacies, but Tesco colleagues can also avail themselves of the convenient support offered through the pharmacies and other health services. “All colleagues have access to virtual GP consultations and additional assistance on areas such as sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being through the Employee Assistance Programme,” Tom concludes.
