The latest rankings from property website Rightmove have unveiled the priciest streets in Britain, with only one outside of London. Leading the list is Winnington Road in Barnet, London, commanding an average price of £12,538,095. Following closely is Chester Square in Westminster, London, with an average asking price of £11,546,428, and The Bishops Avenue in Barnet, London, coming in third at £8,930,650.
Outside of London, East Road in Elmbridge, Surrey, emerges as the most expensive street, standing out as the sole non-London address in the top 20, boasting an average price of £8,795,714. In Scotland, Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh holds the top spot at £560,000, while Hollybush Road in Cardiff takes the title for the most expensive street in Wales at £1,237,500.
The rankings are based on Rightmove data, focusing on streets where at least five homes were available for sale in January of this year. Colleen Babcock, a property expert at Rightmove, noted, “Britain’s most expensive streets always capture the nation’s attention,” highlighting Winnington Road’s return as the priciest street. The majority of the top 20 spots are occupied by London addresses, reaffirming the city’s dominance in the ultra-prime property market.
Babcock also pointed out the allure of prestigious addresses beyond London, citing Elmbridge in Surrey as the only non-capital location to make the top 20 list, offering an alternative for buyers seeking exclusivity away from the urban frenzy.
