Pret A Manger recently unveiled its inaugural drive-thru location in the UK as part of a trial initiative. Situated in Warrington, Cheshire, near junction 21 of the M6, the drive-thru is a collaboration with Motor Fuel Group.
In a bid to broaden its presence in the transport and travel sector, Pret is venturing into direct competition with established brands like Costa Coffee and Starbucks, both of which already operate drive-thru facilities. Currently, the renowned coffee chain boasts 220 outlets in airports, railway stations, and motorway service areas nationwide.
The newly opened Warrington drive-thru features a dedicated lane for vehicles, complemented by indoor seating for up to 48 patrons, EV charging stations, and restroom facilities. Offering the complete breakfast and lunch menu, including popular snacks, as well as an array of hot and cold beverages, such as smoothies.
Ross Warnes, the President of Pret A Manger for the UK and Ireland, expressed excitement about the growth prospects presented by travel hubs and roadside locations. He emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional service and freshly prepared food to customers wherever they may be.
Jack Tindall, Head of Food Service Operations at Motor Fuel Group, highlighted the significance of being Pret’s largest franchise partner in the UK and the pride in spearheading the launch of the brand’s inaugural drive-thru, anticipating a positive reception from the Warrington community.
In a related development, Pret recently expanded its menu offerings, introducing new triple sandwiches, including the All-Day Breakfast Triple and the Everyday Triple, alongside the return of favorites like the Sausage & Bacon Ciabatta hot roll. Additionally, the menu now features new items such as the Thai Style Chicken Baguette and the Shawarma Spiced Chicken Half Flatbread, providing customers with a diverse selection to enjoy.
