A man in Pennsylvania, Michael Mikula, 68, faced charges after authorities found the body of his deceased wife, Sharlene Mikula, in their home in South Londonderry Township. Police reported that Michael had been living with his wife’s corpse for at least a month, concealing her passing.

When police conducted a wellness check at the couple’s residence on April 14, they discovered Mrs. Mikula’s body in an advanced state of decomposition. Michael initially denied her presence but later admitted to knowing about her passing and attempting to hide it.

The investigation into Mrs. Mikula’s death is ongoing, and Michael Mikula has been charged with neglect resulting in death. He claimed to have found his wife dead one morning, mentioning her refusal to eat and frequent falls. Despite this, he failed to seek medical help for her before or after her passing.

Authorities stated that Michael did not notify anyone about his wife’s death and did not seek medical assistance for her. He is currently held on a $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing on April 23 as the investigation continues.
