US President Donald Trump faced a potential threat when gunshots caused panic at the White House correspondents’ dinner on Saturday evening. The incident led to the evacuation of Trump and First Lady Melania from the Washington Hilton event as they prepared for King Charles and Camilla’s upcoming state visit.

In a separate incident in July 2024, Trump sustained a serious injury during a rally in Pennsylvania when he was shot by 20-year-old Thomas Crooks.
