Apple has introduced AppleCare One in the UK, following its successful launch in the US last year. This new subscription service is now available to British customers, providing a convenient and potentially cost-effective way to safeguard multiple Apple devices under a single plan.
Priced at £16.99 per month, AppleCare One offers coverage for up to three eligible devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In case of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will either repair the device or offer up to three replacement devices per year, depending on the nature of the claim.
AppleCare One enhances the existing AppleCare+ service, which includes unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery servicing, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support. The key advantage of AppleCare One is the ability for customers to protect multiple products with one subscription, eliminating the need for separate plans.
This consolidated approach can result in significant savings for users. Apple estimates that individuals covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch could save up to £11.48 per month compared to purchasing individual AppleCare+ plans with Theft and Loss protection for each device.
Moreover, one notable feature is the flexibility to add eligible devices up to four years old to the plan, as long as they are in good condition. This extended timeframe surpasses the usual 60-day window for acquiring AppleCare+ after purchasing a device.
Apple emphasizes that AppleCare One offers customers more flexibility in protecting their existing devices. Additionally, the plan adjusts seamlessly when upgrading devices: if a covered device is traded in for a new one from Apple, the old device is automatically removed, and the new device is added to the subscription without any extra steps.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences with AppleCare One. He emphasized the simplicity and flexibility of the service, providing customers in the UK with the assurance that all their eligible products can be covered under one plan at a fixed price.
