A man has tragically passed away following a suspected poisoning incident on a busy street in Leicester.

Authorities from Leicestershire Police responded to an urgent call in the Clarendon Park neighborhood of the city around 1:45 pm on Saturday, April 11. The report indicated that a man had fallen ill at a specific location.

The situation prompted a swift and extensive emergency response, leading to the closure of Queen’s Road as both Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the scene.

Paramedics attended to the man on-site and subsequently transported him to a hospital; however, he succumbed to the condition shortly after, as confirmed by law enforcement officials.

In the aftermath of preliminary investigations by the police, a 41-year-old individual was apprehended on suspicion of administering poison. Subsequently, the individual was granted bail, as reported by Leicestershire Live.

An active inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway.
