Summer is an ideal time to explore Canada’s outdoor and seasonal antique fairs and markets, whether you’re an experienced collector, a thrifting enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun road trip idea. These events attract numerous respected dealers, offer carefully curated selections of goods, and cater to both casual browsers and serious treasure hunters. Some also provide additional attractions such as on-site food trucks to enhance the shopping experience.

Here are eight antique fairs and markets that are worth checking out this summer:

1. Aberfoyle Antique Market: Located just south of Guelph, Ont., the Aberfoyle Antique Market, touted as the largest of its kind in Canada, operates every Sunday until Oct. 25. With over 100 vendors offering collectibles, furniture, folk art, and more, visitors can also enjoy two Saturday Special Shows each year with over 150 vendors.

2. Old Strathcona Antique Mall Parking Lot Sale: The Old Strathcona Antique Mall in Edmonton hosts seasonal sales in its parking lot on specific dates each summer, rain or shine. Apart from its 120+ indoor vendors, visitors can explore vintage treasures outdoors. The upcoming sales are scheduled for July 12, Aug. 3, and Sept. 7.

3. Saugeen Shores Antique & Collectible Show: Celebrating its 48th year, this year’s event will be held on July 18 and 19 at the Southampton Coliseum in Southampton, Ont. Over 80 vendors will offer vintage clothing, jewelry, advertising signs, furniture, and other unique items.

4. Vintage Pasture Sale: The sixth annual Vintage Pasture Sale will feature over 40 vendors selling vintage and antique finds at Locality Brewing in Langley, B.C., on July 18. Inspired by French brocantes, the event will also include food trucks, farm stands, and a beer garden.

5. Sussex Flea Market: Taking place from Aug. 14 to 16 at Princess Louise Park in Sussex, N.B., this annual event organized by the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club is expected to host over 800 vendors selling a wide range of items from household goods to rare collectibles.

6. Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club Vintage Collectibles & Antiques Show: Scheduled for Aug. 28 and 29 at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster, B.C., this summer show organized by the Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club will feature over 200 booths selling vintage clothing, sports memorabilia, small furniture, and more.

7. Odessa Antique Show: Vendors from Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada will gather at the Odessa Fairgrounds just west of Kingston, Ont., on Aug. 8 and 9. Visitors can explore a variety of items including furniture, toys, glassware, antique china, and more.

8. Cookstown Antique & Vintage Show: The Cookstown Antique & Vintage Market will host its next outdoor event on Sept. 12 at the Georgian Bay Steam Show Grounds in Cookstown, Ont. Featuring over 100 vendors, the event will also offer food trucks for a complete experience.

These events offer a unique opportunity to discover hidden treasures, connect with fellow antique enthusiasts, and enjoy a day of exploring unique finds.
