Police have initiated an inquiry following the circulation of online videos depicting influencers engaging in offensive antisemitic behavior towards strangers in public settings. The incidents reportedly involve individuals recording provocative interactions, often discreetly using smart glasses, and subsequently sharing the footage on popular social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

One of the now-deleted videos shows a person approaching a young man wearing a kippah, insinuating that he dropped money, accompanied by derogatory text and imagery. In another clip, the camera operator targets a different man in traditional Jewish attire, repeating the same offensive behavior. Additionally, a separate video, believed to be filmed in North London’s Stamford Hill area, features the individual behind the camera using derogatory terms while interacting with people regarding a blind date scenario.

Two creators involved in these videos have been banned from TikTok, and inquiries have been directed to Google, the owner of YouTube, for further comments. Labour MP Sarah Sackman identified certain video locations within Golders Green, expressing outrage at the antisemitic abuse occurring in an area known for its significant Jewish population.

Rabbi Levi Schapiro of the Jewish Community Council has urged for prompt and robust action against the dissemination of such harmful content. He has already reached out to major social media platforms requesting enhanced measures to combat antisemitic materials.

Subsequently, the police have launched an investigation into the reported antisemitic social media videos in Stamford Hill, urging individuals with relevant information to come forward. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson emphasized a zero-tolerance stance towards hate crimes and encouraged the public to report any related incidents promptly.
