Luke Humphries has issued a caution to darts enthusiasts that Luke Littler might opt to leave the sport if they persist in jeering him. Littler, who triumphed over Humphries to secure victory in the Premier League, openly expressed his struggles with the audience by breaking down in tears after the match.
The 19-year-old revealed that during the challenging initial weeks of the competition, he confided in his girlfriend, Faith Millar, about contemplating giving up. Reflecting on past incidents, Littler admitted feeling disheartened by the constant crowd hostility following his clash with Gian van Veen in Manchester.
Humphries, the defeated opponent, emphasized the importance of Littler to the sport, highlighting that Littler’s well-being should not be jeopardized by the audience’s behavior. Littler acknowledged the Premier League season as a tumultuous journey and credited his support system for helping him overcome the obstacles.
Following his emotional victory over Humphries, Littler expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and girlfriend for their unwavering support. His performance at The O2 in London, where he clinched the title and a substantial prize money of £350,000, marked a significant milestone in his career, avenging his loss to Humphries in the 2025 final.
Littler now joins the ranks of darts legends such as Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, and Gary Anderson as a multiple-time winner of the Premier League, adding to his previous triumph in 2024.
