Flying with children can be challenging, whether you have a fussy infant, an energetic toddler, or a bored teenager. However, certain airlines enhance the onboard experience for families heading out on vacation.

Many airlines provide additional benefits and complimentary items for families traveling with children, even in economy class. For long-haul flights, airlines often cater to younger passengers by offering special onboard entertainment, meals, and amenity kits.

Here are some perks you can enjoy if you fly with your child this summer:

On TUI’s short-haul flights, parents traveling with kids can check in their car seat and pushchair for free or bring them onboard if they meet size requirements. Families with young children also receive priority boarding.

During longer flights, passengers receive free food and drinks, while children aged two to 12 are served kids’ meals. Kids are provided with complimentary headsets for onboard entertainment and receive age-appropriate activity packs upon boarding.

British Airways offers Skyflyers activity packs for children on flights exceeding three hours, including an eye mask, socks, crayons, and a postcard. These packs can be obtained at specified check-in zones by requesting them from staff.

Children flying with BA can enjoy onboard children’s meals, advanced meal ordering options, and the availability of kids’ snack boxes on shorter flights. Carrycots are provided at no cost, and car seats and pushchairs can be checked in for free.

Virgin Atlantic offers complimentary meals, snacks, and drinks across all classes. Parents can pre-order kids’ meals online, which are portioned appropriately and come with fruit and a sweet treat. Children receive an amenity pack at the gate, regardless of their class, containing items like a popping toy, coloring book, sunglasses, and surprises.

Emirates provides free amenity kits for children, tailored to different age groups, ensuring entertainment during the flight. The kits feature colorful images from Emirates destinations and contain cuddly toys, activities, and collectibles. Even infants receive their own kits with essential items like wipes, cream, a changing mat, a plush toy, and a blanket.
