Paultons Park has provided a preview of its upcoming Valgard: Realm of the Vikings area, a £12 million venture set to debut later this spring.

Located in Hampshire, the park is widely recognized for being home to Peppa Pig World, a popular attraction for young children and families since its opening in 2011. However, the new Valgard land is tailored more towards teenagers and adults, solidifying the park’s status as a hub for exhilarating rides.

Valgard: Realm of the Vikings is scheduled to launch on May 16th, featuring the much-anticipated Drakon, the park’s inaugural looping rollercoaster. The ride will include a vertical lift hill and two twists that will turn riders upside-down. A sneak peek inside reveals the ride’s vehicles, complemented by dry ice and subdued lighting, hinting at an immersive experience.

Another addition to the park is the Vild Swing, a ride that propels riders 12 meters into the air for a thrilling spin. A teaser video showcases the construction progress of the new ride, along with footage of the ride in action for an exciting glimpse of what visitors can expect.

For regular park visitors, a familiar ride has been transformed to fit the Viking theme of the new land. Formerly known as Cobra, the ride has been reimagined as Raven, a bobsled adventure designed to match the Viking ambiance.

Younger guests can explore a Viking-themed playground, while everyone can dine at the new Feasting Hall restaurant, offering an authentic Viking dining experience.

Lawrence Mancey, the marketing and technology director at Paultons Park, expressed excitement about the progress made on the Valgard project despite challenging weather conditions. The park aims to create a captivating and action-packed experience for families, with new pathways, landscaping, and Viking statues already in place. Testing of Drakon and Vild Swing has commenced, and the Feasting Hall restaurant is nearing completion, building anticipation for the grand opening in May.

In addition to Valgard, Paultons Park features six themed worlds, including Tornado Springs inspired by Midwestern America, and Lost Kingdom, a dinosaur-themed area beloved by visitors of all ages.

Tickets for Paultons Park can be purchased online starting at £46.75 per person, with the option to book a short break through the park’s official website for a second day free and accommodation at nearby hotels for a family getaway.
