The complaints of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appear to be never-ending, as the former prince has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with his new residence in exile. However, beyond his grievances about titles and possessions, more significant concerns are looming.

Despite the challenges faced by the British Royal family in recent years, 2025 ended on a particularly humiliating note for Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Stripped of their titles, they were asked to vacate the Royal Lodge, a 30-bedroom Windsor mansion where they had lived luxuriously.

While some may argue that the term ‘banishment’ is too harsh for someone still residing on his brother’s property, it is hard to ignore the embarrassment of a man who was once second in line to the throne. Currently residing in Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate, Andrew awaits the completion of renovations at Marsh Farm, his new permanent residence.

Marsh Farm, a charming red-brick property with five bedrooms and outbuildings, would typically suit a wealthy individual seeking a secluded retreat. However, for Andrew, known for his love of travel and socializing, this humble abode feels like a stark contrast to the grand homes he has been accustomed to.

Recent sightings of three large removal vans outside Marsh Farm indicate that preparations for Andrew’s move are in progress. While the contents of the vans remain undisclosed, the company handling the transportation, Gander & White, specializes in fine art, suggesting that valuable pieces may be part of the move.

In his previous residence in Windsor, Andrew displayed several valuable pieces from the Royal Collection Trust, a collection far exceeding the size of Marsh Farm. While some items were part of the Royal Family’s private collection, others were acquired by Andrew’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Nonetheless, the transition to a relatively modest dwelling has not been well-received by Andrew, who reportedly finds the space constraints disappointing.

Facing limited space at his new home, Andrew has had to make choices about what to bring along. Unfortunately, his extensive teddy bear collection of 72 bears will not make the cut, with only a cuddly monkey being retained. Despite offers of household staff from King Charles, including a cleaner, groundsman, and cook, Andrew is said to be displeased with the arrangements.

Continuing to struggle with his diminished status, Andrew has insisted on being addressed as “Your Royal Highness” within his residence, disregarding the changes in his royal standing. This defiance of palace protocols has raised eyebrows among those close to the situation.

As Andrew settles into his new surroundings, locals in the area express mixed sentiments about his presence. Some residents, like Angela and Cole, voice their discontent, while others, like taxi driver Tony, suggest distancing the family from Andrew’s actions. Amidst these opinions, Andrew’s recent arrest on his birthday for alleged misconduct in public office has further strained his reputation.

The investigation into Andrew’s associations with Jeffrey Epstein has also gained attention, with multiple police forces conducting inquiries into the matter. Despite Andrew’s consistent denial of any wrongdoing, these ongoing investigations add to the challenges he faces in his new residence at Marsh Farm.

The location of Marsh Farm poses its own set of difficulties, situated on a flood plain where residents must be vigilant about potential flooding risks. Additionally, the remote setting offers little in terms of entertainment or amenities, leaving Andrew with a stark adjustment from his previous lifestyle.

As the spring season unfolds around Marsh Farm, Andrew’s circumstances reflect a stark contrast to the optimism typically associated with this time of year.
