Pope Leo, in a series of fresh images, was seen engaging in hands-on activities shortly after a heated exchange with Donald Trump regarding the Iran conflict. The religious leader embarked on a significant tour of Africa, beginning in Algeria, where he emphasized peace and the eradication of neocolonialism. His extensive 11-day itinerary includes visits to Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea, all within the Catholic Church’s realm.

During his visit to Hippo in Annaba, Pope Leo was photographed shaking hands with young scouts while participating in tree-planting activities, resulting in his hands becoming visibly soiled. Clad in pristine white attire, the pontiff was captured reacting humorously to the incident, with his companions sharing light-hearted moments.

Leo’s mission in Algeria aims to promote harmony between Christians and Muslims in the predominantly Muslim country and pay homage to the influential figure of St. Augustine, born locally. However, his trip was overshadowed by a public dispute with President Trump over the Iran conflict. Trump criticized Leo’s leadership, accusing him of being soft on crime and foreign policy, insinuating his papacy owed to political motives.

In response, Pope Leo reiterated his commitment to peace and reconciliation based on religious principles, dismissing Trump’s attacks. He subtly ridiculed the president’s ownership of the Truth Social platform and emphasized his anti-war stance during a public address in Algiers, advocating for a peace founded on justice and dignity for all nations.
