Although no official confirmation has been provided, discussions are ongoing with partners and stakeholders regarding the potential extension of the 2027 TCS London Marathon to span two days. The Mayor of London’s office also expressed enthusiasm for exploring the feasibility of a two-day marathon in the upcoming year, highlighting London’s status as a global sporting hub. Notably, a record-breaking 1,133,813 individuals applied through the public ballot for this year’s marathon, showcasing a significant 36% surge compared to the previous year.
The event not only attracted a massive number of participants but also achieved its highest-ever fundraising total of £87.3 million. In addition, the marathon secured a Guinness World Record in the previous year for the highest number of finishers in a single race, with 56,640 completing the challenging course.
