The father of a teenage girl who was fatally attacked by their family dog pleaded with authorities to euthanize the pet. Jack Biscoe made the request after emergency responders arrived at his residence in Leaden Roding, Essex, where his 19-year-old daughter, Jamie-Lea Biscoe, was tragically killed by their dog named Shy.

Upon discovering his daughter with a neck wound upon returning home, Jack urged the police to take action against the dog. The dog in question, a female blue-merle Lurcher-cross, was taken into custody by Essex Police, along with two other dogs believed to be Shy’s puppies.

Following the incident, Jack expressed his belief that the dog should not be allowed to live any longer, emphasizing that he never wants to see her again. He also mentioned concerns about the puppies witnessing the attack, indicating that they may not be suitable for adoption due to their traumatic experience.

Despite Shy’s previous non-aggressive behavior, Jack described her as his daughter’s beloved companion who tragically turned on her. A man, likely Jack, was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog that caused fatal injury due to being out of control. He was subsequently released on bail as investigations continue.

Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper of Essex Police acknowledged the community’s shock over the incident and assured ongoing efforts to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
