Donald Trump has made a declaration that the US navy will enforce a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz while stating that Iran’s navy has been destroyed. The US president shared this announcement on Truth Social, indicating that the military has initiated the blockade in response to the ongoing conflict with Iran.

In a social media post, Trump mentioned that Iran’s Navy has been completely wiped out, with 158 ships destroyed. He also warned that any of Iran’s remaining “fast attack ships” approaching the blockade would be swiftly eliminated using a lethal approach similar to dealing with drug traffickers at sea.

Following a deadlock in negotiations between Iran and the US in Islamabad, Trump has taken a proactive stance by ordering the prevention of all ships from passing through the vital global shipping canal. The president emphasized that the US military will intercept every vessel that has paid a toll to Iran for passage through the strait.

Trump hinted at the involvement of other countries in the blockade but did not specify which nations would participate. However, reports stated that the UK would not be part of the blockade. The president asserted that any ship paying an illegal toll would not be granted safe passage and mentioned plans to remove Iranian-laid mines from the strait, threatening severe retaliation against any Iranian aggression.

Trump’s recent social media post reiterated his claim of Iran’s military forces being decimated, with their Navy, Air Force, and Leaders declared as eliminated. The president emphasized the readiness of the US to conclude the conflict swiftly, asserting that Iran’s remaining capabilities would be eradicated.

Amid escalating tensions, UK Minister Wes Streeting condemned Trump’s remarks as “incendiary, provocative, outrageous.” Trump has consistently emphasized preventing Iran from obtaining or expanding its nuclear capabilities, a stance that Tehran has denied by refuting any intentions to develop nuclear weapons.
