A woman has initiated legal proceedings against an MRI clinic following the tragic death of her husband, who was pulled into an MRI machine. Adrienne Jones-McAllister, aged 61, is taking legal action against Nassau Open MRI after her husband Keith McAllister, also 61, passed away in a bizarre incident, as stated in court documents.

Keith had accompanied his wife to a radiology office in New York while she was undergoing an MRI on her knee on July 16, 2025. The complaint revealed that McAllister was wearing a “large metallic chain” around his neck, which caused him to be pulled into the MRI machine.

Adrienne witnessed the incident firsthand, claiming that her husband sustained fatal injuries and later died due to the clinic’s alleged negligence. The legal claim asserts that the clinic failed to provide a safe environment by not warning Keith about the risks of wearing metal objects near the MRI machine.

According to the complaint, Adrienne suffered severe emotional and physical distress following her husband’s death. She is now seeking unspecified damages deemed fair by a jury. Adrienne described her husband’s tragic passing, highlighting the efforts made by herself and an MRI technician to free him before authorities intervened.

In the aftermath, Adrienne expressed her deep emotional turmoil and disbelief over the incident. The Nassau County Police Department confirmed that the chain around Keith’s neck caused the fatal incident. Her daughter Samantha Bodden refuted claims that Keith was unauthorized to be in the MRI room, stating that a technician had escorted him in.

The bereaved family is actively pursuing justice and accountability for the tragic event that led to Keith’s untimely death.
