Donald Trump is attempting to claim credit for progress in resolving the conflict with Iran. This move has drawn comparisons to an arsonist seeking praise for allowing a fire engine near a burning building. The situation evolved when Iran announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz during the ceasefire in Lebanon. The outcome of negotiations between the US and Iran before the ceasefire concludes remains uncertain. The temporary halt in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah signals potential advancement.

In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump excitedly announced Iran’s decision to open the Strait of Hormuz for shipping. Despite mistakenly referring to it as the “Strait of Iran,” he acknowledged that the US naval blockade towards Iran would persist until a comprehensive agreement is reached. Trump emphasized the swift progress in negotiations and insisted on stringent terms regarding Iran’s nuclear program before considering lifting the blockade.

Iran confirmed the strait’s accessibility during the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire, leading to an initial drop in oil prices. Trump pressed for extensive concessions from Iran on nuclear matters, asserting the necessity of removing all nuclear materials before easing the blockade. Furthermore, Trump rebuffed NATO’s offer of assistance following the strait’s reopening, criticizing their past ineffectiveness. Meanwhile, Britain and France disclosed plans for a peaceful mission to secure the strait, pending suitable conditions.

Continuing his social media activity, Trump criticized media outlets for not acknowledging his role in the recent developments. He urged them to recognize his efforts and restore their credibility by commending his actions. Trump also revisited his rhetoric on America’s condition under Biden during a recent event in Las Vegas, inadvertently highlighting historical inaccuracies in his statements.

Trump’s recent fabrication involving a photo portraying himself as a doctor was exposed during an awkward encounter. He recounted an encounter with a woman delivering McDonald’s to the White House, acknowledging the awkwardness of the situation. Additionally, Trump revisited past political stunts, emphasizing their role in achieving electoral success despite potential embarrassment.

During an event in Vegas, Trump touted tax cuts for small businesses, displaying a moment of confusion over terminologies like “corner store.” He questioned the use of the term, showcasing a lack of familiarity with the vernacular. Prior to his remarks, Trump delayed his appearance, leading the audience in a rendition of the hymn “How Great Thou Art” to pass the time.
