Armani Deshawn Lyons was under the care of a 71-year-old babysitter at an Atlanta apartment when emergency services responded to a shooting report around 12:37 a.m. on April 5 in the vicinity of the 900 block of Washington Street SW, as per the Atlanta Police Department.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found the young child with a gunshot wound. The child was rushed to a hospital by ambulance, where medical staff pronounced him dead. The 71-year-old babysitter involved in the incident has been taken into custody, while a second suspect remains at large.
