Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies in the UK catering to more than 500,000 customers weekly, offers valuable health support and guidance. The convenience of picking up prescriptions, utilizing various healthcare services, and consulting expert pharmacists during routine shopping trips is a significant advantage.

In today’s fast-paced world, many individuals find it challenging to prioritize essential health check-ups amidst their hectic schedules. Seeking information on health concerns online can sometimes be more stressful than reassuring when time is limited.

“By providing quick and accessible pharmacy services, health advice, and a range of health and wellness products within our stores, we aim to offer our customers a seamless experience,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies offer a comprehensive range of services and friendly guidance. “A brief visit to our pharmacy can offer crucial reassurance or the necessary assistance,” notes Tom.

In addition to addressing common ailments like sore throats and earaches, Tesco pharmacists can prescribe treatments for various conditions through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment and saving valuable time.

“Our pharmacists undergo specialized training from reputable organizations such as Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to equip them with the knowledge to provide information and support on cancer, heart health, circulatory diseases, and type 2 diabetes,” reveals Tom. Customers can easily identify these trained pharmacists by their Let’s Talk badges at the pharmacy counter.

For those concerned about heart health, Tesco offers quick walk-in blood pressure checks with no prior appointment needed. “A brief visit to our store can offer peace of mind or prompt early intervention if required,” highlights Tom.

Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 free blood pressure tests for customers this year alone, showcasing the significant impact of their services. Furthermore, Tesco employees can also benefit from the convenience of accessing various health services and support through the pharmacies.

“Colleagues can access virtual GP appointments and receive additional support on sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through our Employee Assistance Programme,” adds Tom, emphasizing the holistic approach to employee well-being at Tesco.
