Russia has issued a direct threat to target locations in the UK. The defense ministry, under Vladimir Putin, has identified specific sites in London, Leicester, and Suffolk, along with others across several European countries, which it claims are supplying military equipment to the Ukrainian armed forces for attacks on Russian territory.
Dmitry Medvedev, a senior Kremlin official and former Russian president, emphasized that the threat should be taken seriously. He serves as Putin’s second-in-command on the Russian Security Council. Medvedev warned that the European facilities listed by Russia as potential targets for strikes by the Russian armed forces could face consequences soon.
The list includes an alleged address in Mildenhall, Suffolk, associated with Ukrainian missile maker Fire Point, which operates near a RAF base. The Russian defense ministry stated that European countries are ramping up drone production to support Ukraine’s military actions against Russia.
The ministry expressed concerns that this escalation could transform European countries into Ukraine’s strategic rear area, potentially leading to terrorist attacks against Russia. Alleged production facilities were also named in Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Israel, and Turkey.
Russian propagandist Vladimir Kornilov described the warning from the Russian Ministry of Defence as significant and long overdue.
