Former rugby player and Love Island victor Greg O’Shea has exchanged vows with his model girlfriend in a personal and moving ceremony. Greg, who previously triumphed on the hit dating show, surprised his partner Jeanni Mulder with a proposal at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve.

The Limerick native revealed his romantic proposal in an Instagram video but kept the wedding date undisclosed as the couple opted for a private celebration. The happy pair reportedly formalized their union with a gathering for their closest family and friends at House on Dublin’s Leeson Street.

Having been together for over two years, the couple’s first date took place at the trendy venue where they recently tied the knot. Greg shared a series of beautiful photos from their special day on Instagram, captioning them with “Mr & Mrs O’Shea. Intimate, emotional, and just as we desired.” The couple received an outpouring of well-wishes from their Instagram followers, with former Saturdays singer Una Healy praising them as a “beautiful couple.”

Greg disclosed their decision to forgo an extravagant wedding in favor of two smaller celebrations in Ireland and Jeanni’s homeland of South Africa. The travel enthusiast couple is now planning an extended honeymoon to celebrate their marriage. Greg emphasized their choice for intimate celebrations to spend quality time with each other and their guests.

Prior to his proposal, Greg spent time with Jeanni and her family in South Africa, where they celebrated Christmas. The rugby star gained fame after winning Love Island in 2019 and has since represented Ireland in rugby sevens at the Olympics and worked as a TV presenter. Greg has also taken up adventure racing and ultra marathons, with Jeanni supporting him in these endeavors.

Upon proposing, Greg shared photos on Instagram with his fiancée, showcasing her diamond ring and their love against a picturesque backdrop. Love Island friends congratulated Greg on the joyous news, with Christopher Taylor extending his well-wishes.

The couple reportedly started dating in early 2023 and shared glimpses of their relationship during sporting challenges. Greg had expressed regrets in 2022 about the way he ended his relationship with Love Island co-winner Amber Gill, acknowledging that he should have handled things differently.
