At CPAC, the prominent pro-Trump event, the absence of the former president did not dampen the festivity. Despite his non-attendance, the event was filled with a mix of oddities, including peculiar characters, cartoonish racists, and individuals dressed as biblical figures roaming the Trump-centric gathering.

Attendees were treated to various attractions such as the MAGA gift shop, encounters with unique personalities like the ex-pillow salesman turned conspiracy theorist turned gubernatorial candidate, and the Proud Boys’ founder proudly announcing his group’s political aspirations. Additionally, a notable presence at the event was the Iranian diaspora.

Surprisingly, Liz Truss, a British political figure, made a recurring appearance at CPAC, emphasizing her dedication to launching a ‘MEGA – Make England Great Again’ movement in the UK and establishing a UK branch of CPAC later in the year.

Mike Lindell, known for his pillow business and conspiracy theories, was also a notable figure at the event. Despite his controversial past, including legal disputes, Lindell is now venturing into the political arena by running for Governor of Minnesota.

Enrique Tarrio, a former Proud Boys chairman with a history of far-right activities, shared insights on the group’s current status and revealed aspirations for his followers to engage in local politics.

CPAC attendees had the opportunity to explore a variety of Trump-themed merchandise, including hats, tees, and even quirky items like whiskey glasses with bullets embedded in them and socks featuring Trump’s iconic hairstyle.

Moreover, diverse characters and activities were present at the event, from a faux Moses advocating for the teaching of the Ten Commandments in schools to vendors selling survival gear for potential societal breakdowns.

The event also saw a significant presence of Iranian restorationist supporters, notably backing exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. Their presence and enthusiastic response to Pahlavi’s speech added a unique dynamic to the CPAC gathering.

Overall, CPAC 2026 in Grapevine, Texas, showcased a mix of political fervor, controversial figures, and a diverse array of viewpoints, making it a memorable and intriguing event for attendees.
