Fitbit, known for its long history of promoting active lifestyles through wearables, has introduced a new device called the Fitbit Air. Unlike previous models, the Fitbit Air lacks a screen and resembles popular Whoop bands in its design, offering a more affordable and convenient way to monitor daily fitness levels.

While the absence of a screen means users cannot read messages or check heart rate and exercise stats on the device, it comes with notable advantages. The Fitbit Air boasts a comfortable bracelet-style strap, preferred by users in a recent Google study for its comfort over competitors.

One remarkable feature of the Fitbit Air is its extended battery life, promising up to a week of usage without needing a recharge. Additionally, it supports fast charging, providing a day’s worth of power in just five minutes. The device includes a new magnetic charger with bi-directional technology, allowing for easy recharging without worrying about orientation.

Despite its sleek appearance, the Fitbit Air remains true to its brand by monitoring various health metrics once worn, including sleep patterns, activity levels, exercise routines, and heart rate. It also alerts users to irregular heart rhythms and conditions like AFib.

Internally, the Fitbit Air is equipped with essential sensors such as an optical heart rate monitor, a gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for oxygen levels, and a temperature sensor. Data collected by the device is transferred directly to smartphones for analysis by the Google Health Coach, providing users with a comprehensive overview of their health.

Water-resistant up to 50 meters, the Fitbit Air will be offered in four colors: Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender. Upon its release, the Fitbit Air will be priced at £84.99.
