Conor McGregor has expressed approval for the UFC’s upcoming White House event, even though he is not scheduled to participate in it. McGregor was initially rumored to headline a fight on President Donald Trump’s front lawn against Michael Chandler on June 14, but it seems his bout may be postponed to the following month. UFC CEO Dana White recently unveiled the White House card, featuring Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main event.
In another significant matchup, Alex Pereira is set to face Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt. Despite not being part of the card, McGregor shared his enthusiasm on social media by posting a photo of the event with the caption “love it,” later describing it as “a great card.”
McGregor previously mentioned his anticipation for a return to the cage, indicating his interest in the White House event against Chandler. However, plans shifted, and McGregor hinted at a potential matchup during International Fight Week. He also disclosed his intention to return at welterweight, emphasizing his readiness and eagerness to compete. McGregor remains hopeful for a favorable offer as discussions continue with his management team.
