A British vacationer was swiftly taken to the hospital after plunging from the second story of his Lanzarote hotel into a shallow fish pond housing Koi carp and terrapins.

Emergency responders, including firefighters and medical personnel, were able to rescue the holidaymaker following the incident at the upscale H10 Rubicon Horizons Collection in Playa Blanca.

The event occurred around 11:30 pm on Saturday, with the man falling into a fish pond approximately 15 inches deep, located two floors below the street level adjacent to a hotel restaurant.

While specific details surfaced over the weekend, his age and nationality were only officially disclosed by reliable sources late yesterday. An insider mentioned, “The incident is being treated as accidental. It seems he was on the second floor with his wife when he leaned over to observe the fish pond below, leading to a loss of balance and the fall.”

Upon the firefighters’ arrival, medical personnel had already secured the elderly tourist with a neck brace and safely extracted him using a rescue board before transferring him to an awaiting ambulance.

He was subsequently transported to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote. Presently, his current medical status remains undisclosed.

In response to the situation, local law enforcement and Civil Guard officers were dispatched by a regional emergency response coordination center.

The hotel, previously known as the H10 Rubicon Palace, declined to comment citing client confidentiality regulations.

This seafront adults-only resort boasts a five-star rating and draws inspiration from Lanzarote’s aesthetics. Playa Blanca, situated as the southernmost town in Lanzarote, is particularly favored by British tourists.
