An 82-year-old woman bravely declared her determination to continue attending services at a London synagogue despite a recent firebomb attack. Rhona Brickman, a long-time member of Kenton Synagogue in Harrow, emphasized the importance of not letting fear dictate their actions. She expressed shock and concern over the escalating attacks on the Jewish community, stressing the need to stand strong against intimidation.

The incident, where a molotov cocktail was thrown through a window but failed to ignite properly, prompted police intervention. Another member of the congregation highlighted the fortunate outcome due to the location of the attack within the synagogue. However, concerns were raised about the potential devastation if the firebomb had landed in a different area of the building.

Authorities revealed that similar incidents in the past 48 hours were linked to a group named Ashab al‑Yamin, which has claimed responsibility for attacks on Jewish targets across Europe. The possibility of connections to Iran is under investigation as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Leaders including Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis and Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack, promising increased visible policing to safeguard the community. Deputy commissioner Matt Jukes emphasized the commitment to combat such acts of violence and intimidation, warning perpetrators that they will face legal consequences.

In response to the arson attempt at Kenton United Synagogue, police assured heightened patrols and a proactive approach to prevent further incidents. Jukes reiterated the determination to hold accountable those involved in criminal activities, emphasizing that law enforcement would not tolerate such behavior.
