The latest marketing move by Reform has backfired, leading to a potential crisis for Nigel Farage. The party’s controversial energy bill competition promised a year of free energy bills for the winner and their street. Although June from Wigan won, neighbors claim they have not received anything.

Nigel Farage shared a video on social media celebrating June’s win, but questions arose when a photo showed him with the winners at a 2019 Brexit event. Critics suspect he may have known the winners in advance. Some residents of St Malo Road in Wigan feel excluded from the prize, despite promises that every home would be included.

Residents like Angie Ecclestone and Matt Johnson express disappointment at not receiving any communication about their winnings. Fraser Hayes, who is not a fan of the party, plans to donate the prize if he receives it. The situation has turned the energy giveaway into a public relations disaster, with residents seeking clarity from Reform on honoring their commitment.

Half of the residents on St Aubyn’s Road in Greater Manchester are still waiting for a letter about the competition. A Reform UK spokesperson confirmed that letters are on their way to all households and reiterated the party’s intention to fulfill its promise to pay for the entire road’s energy bills.

Manchester police are reviewing a complaint regarding the competition, but Nigel Farage remains unconcerned about allegations of electoral rule violations. The Greater Manchester Police are investigating the matter, though the specific offense is unclear. The Mirror has reached out to GMP for additional information.
