A woman in her 70s passed away following a dog attack involving two “rottweiler-type” dogs in Wolverhampton. Emergency responders were dispatched to Willis Pearson Avenue in the Bilston area after receiving reports of the elderly woman being harmed by two dogs, which are not of a banned breed.

The woman, identified as Carol Hall by local residents, died at the scene, marking the third fatality in a recent series of UK dog attacks. The dogs responsible for the incident were euthanized due to their continued aggression towards emergency personnel.

A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of having control over a dangerously out-of-control dog that led to the fatal injury. He was hospitalized for hand injuries following the incident.

Witnesses reported hearing the victim’s daughter cry out that her mother had been attacked by the dogs, emphasizing the animals’ uncontrollable behavior. Neighbors described the dogs as unruly and mentioned incidents where they appeared difficult to manage.

Authorities are conducting further investigations regarding the dogs involved in the attack. The police clarified that the inquiry is in its early stages as they strive to comprehend the exact circumstances of the incident, which was reported around 11:30 pm on a Wednesday night. The property’s windows were boarded up, and floral tributes were left by concerned individuals.

Medical services arrived promptly at the Bilston location in response to the distress call. The West Midlands Police confirmed that the dogs implicated in the attack are not of a banned breed, and an ongoing probe is underway to determine the full sequence of events.

In addition to this tragic incident, two other dog attacks occurred recently, including the death of a three-month-old infant in Redcar, North Yorkshire. Subsequently, armed officers had to intervene and neutralize a dog in Redcar on April 9. Another unfortunate event unfolded in Leaden Roding, Essex, where a 19-year-old woman lost her life due to severe injuries sustained in a dog attack.
