Warm weather is expected to hit the UK soon, with temperatures in up to 28 counties forecasted to reach 20C and higher. The ECMWF weather model indicates a heat surge later this month, with some areas possibly reaching 23C. Peak temperatures are projected in the south-east of England and along the south coast on April 29, but pleasant conditions are also anticipated in East Anglia, the Midlands, and parts of Wales.

Northern regions won’t be left out, as temperatures are set to be mild. The ECMWF model suggests highs of 18C in Northern Ireland and southern Scotland, and 16C in the Scottish Highlands. However, the real heat is expected further south, with 28 counties likely to experience temperatures exceeding 20C on April 29.

The Met Office predicts that “high pressure” could dominate the weather by the end of this month, although there might be some unexpected snowfall in April. The forecast for April 21 to 30 mentions dry weather and sunny spells initially, with a chance of scattered showers in central and eastern areas. The east coast may experience cooler temperatures, while the west could feel warm, especially in sunlit regions. Unsettled weather is anticipated to return over the weekend, with the possibility of wintry showers and snow in certain areas, although high pressure may attempt a comeback towards the month’s end.
