Residents of Toronto, Canada were left startled by a powerful explosion that reverberated through the city. Video footage shared online depicted the aftermath of the incident, which seemed to have taken place near Downsview Airport, a retired military airfield.

A social media user, capturing the moment, hastily created a Twitter account to inquire about the explosion. Another individual commented on the explosion aftermath near Downsview airport.

Live coverage of the event concluded after confirming that the explosion was part of a planned filming project for television or movies. A resident shared a letter online revealing that the explosion was a scripted part of a film shoot, with scheduled pyrotechnic displays set to occur between 6 pm and 11 pm on Thursday, April 16, behind Carl Hall Road.

Downsview Park officials clarified that the explosion was intentional and scheduled as part of planned pyrotechnic effects. Residents were forewarned about potential loud noises, flashes of light, and smoke during the week of April 13, emphasizing that the controlled activities posed no threat to public safety.

Witnesses reported that the explosion illuminated the sky with an orange hue, visible across most of the Greater Toronto area. Many locals shared their experiences online, with some mentioning seeing the explosion from their backyards or witnessing a fiery spectacle in the sky.
