Two individuals lost their lives immediately following a tragic accident involving the SUV carrying Anthony Joshua, as reported by witnesses. Joshua, the British boxer, sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital in Nigeria. The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway near Makun when Joshua’s SUV collided with a stationary truck. Eyewitnesses mentioned that Joshua’s security team and passersby swiftly responded to the crash to assist.
The crash was attributed to a burst tire causing Joshua’s vehicle to swerve and lose control. Local authorities, including the police and the Ogun state traffic compliance and enforcement agency, are investigating the incident. According to Adeniyi Orojo, an onlooker, the convoy consisted of a Lexus SUV and a Pajero SUV, with Joshua seated behind the driver and two other occupants in the Lexus. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives at the scene of the crash.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, confirmed that Joshua was safe and en route to the hospital after being briefed about the accident while on holiday. Joshua, who was in Nigeria visiting his parents’ homeland, recently triumphed over Jake Paul in a boxing match. The fight ended with Joshua securing a victory, leaving Paul with a broken jaw in two places.
